Audit Trail Report
The Audit Trail report allows users to track changes made to an Ingredient, Recipe, or Label. These changes include the property changed, the data it was changed, and the user who made it. The Audit Trail report can be exported as a .CSV file.
To view the Audit Trail report for an Ingredient, Recipe or Label, open the Ingredient, Recipe or Label in question and click on the Reports tab in the upper left corner.
You will see the available reports for that item. For an Ingredient, there are two reports: Nutrient Spec Sheet and Audit Trail. Select Audit Trail and then click the “Generate Report” button. The Audit Trail report will be created and displayed on screen.
You can export the report by clicking on the “Export” button above the Audit Trail display. Your browser will download a file named “Audit Trail Report.csv” automatically to your downloads folder, or, depending on your settings, prompt you to save it to a location on your computer.
Attributes
An attribute is any specific property a user might want to track to comply with mandatory labeling laws (bioengineered material, for example), and/or for voluntary packaging claims or marketing (vegan, gluten-free, etc.).

Each Attribute has a rule associated with it:

At least one

All
“At least one” means that if at least one Ingredient or Sub-recipe has that Attribute on it, then the Recipe using that Ingredient or Sub-recipe will also get that Attribute.
For example, Bioengineered has the “At least one” rule associated with it. If one or more Ingredients or Sub-recipes have the Bioengineered Attribute, then the Recipe using that Ingredient or Sub-recipe will also get the Bioengineered Attribute.
“All” means that all Ingredients and Sub-recipes must have that Attribute for the Recipe using that Ingredient or Sub-recipe to get that Attribute.
For example, Kosher has the “All” rule associated with it. If a Recipe has four Ingredients and all four of those Ingredients have the Kosher Attribute, then the Recipe will get the Kosher Attribute. If only three of the four Ingredients have the Kosher Attribute, then the Recipe will not get the Kosher Attribute.
Attributes can be managed in the Attribute section of an Ingredient or Recipe.
Ingredients
For Ingredients, clicking “Add Attribute” will allow you to search for, and add, Attributes.
You can add an Expiration Date and attach a document to a given Attribute. Once complete, click the “Add Attribute” button to associate that Attribute with the Ingredient.
Attributes can be deleted by clicking the Trash Can icon associated with the Attribute. Attributes can have their Expiration Date changed or have a new document attached to it by clicking “Edit Attributes” and selecting the Attribute to edit, then making the necessary changes. Click the “Update Attribute” button to persist those changes.
Recipes
Much like Allergens, Attributes are aggregated into a Recipe based on the rule associated with each Attribute.
Here we can see that the Recipe has two Ingredients, one with the Kosher Attribute and the Bioengineered Attribute, and one with no Attributes. Per the “All” rule for Kosher, the Recipe does not qualify for the Kosher Attribute because not all of the Ingredients in the Recipe have the Kosher Attribute. You can see that by expanding the Kosher Attribute. The Recipe does qualify for the Bioengineered Attribute because Bioengineered has the “At least one” rule.
If you want to override the Kosher Attribute for this Recipe, you can do so by clicking “Add Recipe Attribute/Override”.
You can then search for Kosher and add it to the Recipe and Kosher will be overridden and the Recipe will now have the Kosher Attribute.
You can also add Attributes that are not present in any of the Ingredient/Sub-recipes just as you would for an Ingredient.
Yield Adjustments
Yield Adjustments are used to account for the losses a food item may encounter during the different types of processing (cooking, baking, broiling etc.).
The different types of Yield Adjustments are:
Moisture Loss/Adjustments
This is used to apply moisture loss adjustments to recipes so that the nutrition facts panel and reports can reflect the loss that happened during cooking or processing and account for any deviation from the original values.
Fat Loss/Adjustments
This is used to apply fat loss adjustments to recipes so that the nutrition facts panel and reports can reflect the loss that happened during cooking and account for any deviation from the original values.
Processing/Cooking Adjustments
This is used to apply percent processing or cooking loss adjustments to recipes. When accounting for processing loss, it is important to note that usually it's the complete set of ingredients that get lost, e.g., while making cookies, some of the cookie dough could go missing by sticking to the assembly line or kitchen counter, oven, tasting etc. This is called processing loss and would be calculated in percent to account for the difference in the initial value and the final value.
NOTE: Yield Adjustments only apply to recipes. They do not apply to ingredients.
You can add a Yield Adjustment by click “Add Yield Adjustment”.
You can then select Moisture, Fat, or Processing Adjustment to add by selecting the appropriate Adjustment Option.
Moisture and Fat can be specified as either a Loss or a Target and in what Units. By default, the Unit is Percent, but it could be grams, pounds, etc. Loss will tell the application how much Moisture or Fat to remove, Target will tell the application how much Moisture or Fat to have left.
For example, if you have 10 grams of Water/Fat in your recipe and you specify a Loss of 5 grams, you will have 5 grams left over. If you have 10 grams of Water/Fat in your recipe and you specify a Target of 2 grams, you will have 2 grams of Water/Fat left over.
Processing can only be specified as a Loss, there is no Target for the Processing Adjustment. Processing acts like a scaling of your Recipe. If you specify a loss of 10 grams in Processing, your entire Recipe will lose 10 grams and its Nutrients will be affected accordingly.
All Yield adjustments can be removed from a Recipe by clicking “Remove Yield Adjustments”.
It should be noted that while you can assign all three Yield Adjustments to a single Recipe, the best practice is to reproduce in Genesis Foods what is done in the kitchen. If all three adjustments are made to a single recipe, the Processing adjustment will always be taken first. If your processing loss occurs after you have cooked your product, then you should only apply a Moisture/Fat adjustment to your Recipe, save it, and then use the ‘cooked’ Recipe as a Sub-recipe in another Recipe to which you then apply a Processing adjustment.
Dual Column Standard Label
The U.S. Dual Column Standard template has been introduced. This template allows users to show both per-serving and per-container data on one label.
TEMPLATE
It is accessed by selecting Dual Column from the Label Setup page.
RECIPE SELECTION
You can select two recipes in the Recipe Selection dialog that appears after you have selected the Dual Column Label template.
Headers for each of the columns can be set in the Serving Options dialog.
DISPLAY OPTIONS
The Display Options for Dual Column are similar to other formats. You can select to show a Simplified version of the label and control the various formats for Footnotes, etc.
Aggregate Label
The U.S. Aggregate Label template has been introduced. This is a template meant for showing between two and eight recipes on the same label.
TEMPLATE
It is accessed by selecting Aggregate from the Label Setup page.
RECIPE SELECTION
You can select between two and eight recipes for an Aggregate Label. Do so in the Recipe Selection dialog that appears after you have selected the Aggregate Label template.
Reordering of Recipes can be done from the Recipe Options dialog.
You can specify Serving per container for each Recipe in your label from the Serving Options dialog.
DISPLAY OPTIONS
Unlike other label templates, the Aggregate Label has a very concise set of Display Options to choose from.
Localization
The application can now be localized into three languages: English, French, and German. A user can choose which language they want the user interface to be localized by Selecting the Language using the browser settings:
Choose the language from the “Choose Language” drop-down and log in and all user interface elements will be localized into that language.
