Copying Labels
Genesis Foods now supports copying Labels. This action is not making a new version; instead, Copying will completely restart the Audit Trail. This feature will allow the user to save time by creating master templates of their label formats as the Display Options, Serving Options and Mandatory and Voluntary Nutrients selections will be duplicated. For example, a user could create a copy of a current recipe with a Canada Dual Label and name the copy Canada Dual Label template. With this new feature, each time the user needs a Canada Dual Label with their organization's standards, the user can open the template, make a copy, and swap out the recipe, while keeping all the previous Settings and Nutrient options.
Protein Quality Report
The Protein Quality Report displays the essential amino acid scores, which helps identify a food as containing complete or incomplete protein. The Protein Quality report shows actual versus ideal ratios of amino acids scored as percents, as well as the limiting amino acid in the food list.
If any of the ingredients are missing amino acid data, that missing data will affect the amino acid score, and the report can help identify those issues. Once the issue is identified, the user can go to the Nutrients section and choose the “Basic Protein and Amino Acids” Nutrient list. On this page, a user can enter any missing information or override a value if needed.
Display Number of Active Recipes
This new feature allows Administrators on the account to display and export a list of active recipes in their account during a specific timeframe. This feature is found on the Profile page under the Usage tab.
In addition to providing a report within the application, Genesis Foods now supports exporting a .csv version of the report.
Canada Dual Label
Genesis Foods now features a dual column label for the Canada authority. This format can be created in one or two languages. This label is appropriate for:
- Two serving sizes of the same food, such as for 1 serving or the whole container or
- Foods requiring preparation with as sold and prepared values
For packages displaying two serving sizes of the same food, one column will list the quantitative and % daily value amounts of one serving as required, and the second column will list the % daily value amounts of the entire container.
For products that require preparation with additional foods, such as cake or a bowl of cereal, one column will show the quantitative and % daily value amounts of the product as is, and the second column will list the % daily value amounts of the product as prepared.
Under the Display options, the user can choose whether to display English or French first, and the decimal separator can be toggled between period (English standard) or comma (French standard).
Under Serving Options, the user can add in English and French column headers for household measure, prepared household measure, and as sold.
Nutrient Calculations
Check Calculations compares user-entered nutrient information with common nutritional calculations to ensure data accuracy at the Ingredient and Recipe levels. Notification of discrepancies as well as details of the calculations performed will be available to the user. Calculations include Calories, Fat, Sugars, Protein, and Weight estimations. Users can determine Calories using two different calculations (4-4-9-7 or 4-4-9-2-7), depending on their unique needs. If the difference between the entered value and the estimated value is more than 5%, Genesis Foods will display a warning sign. Once the problem is fixed on the main screen, the warning sign will disappear.
To access Check Calculations, users will click on Nutrients in the Quick Links in the right-hand column, and then click on the Check Calculations in the top right-hand corner above the nutrient table.
Note: Check Calculations is intended for user validation of nutrition information. Alerts will not prevent ingredient or recipe approval.
Reorder Formulations
The user can now change the order of the items in the formulation by dragging and dropping or using the arrows to move the items. Previously, the only way to change the order of items was to delete and re-add in the correct order. This feature will allow recipes and reports to have ingredients in the same order for the user’s convenience.
Decimal Precision at the Sub-Ingredient Level
Genesis Foods now allows users to display as many as six decimal places on sub-ingredients to increase accuracy of recipes. The total must add up to 100 percent.
AskReg Allergen Identification
Trustwell’s AI Assistant AskReg just got smarter! Based on your ingredient’s name and sub-ingredients AskReg can now identify when you may be potentially missing allergens from your declaration statement on your ingredients.
For example, if you have added enriched wheat flour as a sub-ingredient, AskReg will notify you that you might be missing a Gluten allergen declaration.
This feature can be enabled or disabled in your User Preference settings.
