Versioning Explained

Genesis Foods allows you to create versions of a Recipe or Ingredient by using the Approval option. All Recipes or Ingredients start in a Version V1 Draft.

When you approve a Recipe or Ingredient, you can no longer edit that saved version at all. Instead, the user must create a new version to edit and the application automatically creates a draft version of that Recipe or Ingredient in draft mode.

Only the draft version is editable and only the latest approved version can be opened as a draft. Versioning allows you to continually update their Recipes and Ingredients without needing a unique name for each version.

  • Click the read-only tag next to “Version” to pop out the version history. You can then compare the differences between versions of the same Recipe or Ingredient.

You have three views to choose from when comparing versions of a Recipe:

  • Compare Food Items
  • Compare Per 100g analyses
  • Compare Label rounded analyses
