AskReg Suggestions is an AI-powered, in-app intelligence feature that automatically scans your Ingredients and alerts you to potential compliance risks — specifically undeclared allergens and restricted/banned additives. It's included for all Genesis Foods users and runs passively in the background.
AskReg Suggestions Overview
AskReg Suggestions has two types of alerts:
1. Allergen Suggestions
AskReg scans your Ingredient name and listed sub-ingredients and identifies potentially undeclared allergens.
If a potential allergen is detected, a banner appears in the Allergens section of the Ingredient: "Hello, it's AskReg, Trustwell's Regulatory AI Assistant! Based on your listed ingredients and sub-ingredients, I've identified [Allergen] as a potential allergen. Please review your ingredient for these allergens below."
A sparkle/stars icon (✨) also appears next to the Allergens quick link to signal the alert.
Once you address the allergen (e.g., move it to "Contains" or "May Contain"), the alert automatically clears.
Allergen Suggestions apply to Ingredients only, not Recipes.
2. Restricted Additive Suggestions
AskReg scans your Ingredient's Name, Aliases, Sub-ingredients, and Ingredient Statement and flags any potentially restricted or banned additives (e.g., Red Dye No. 3, Brominated Vegetable Oil, Titanium Dioxide).
If a match is found, a banner appears in the Ingredient Statement section: "AskReg identified [Additive Name] as a potentially restricted additive in your ingredient. Go to Dashboard for More Info."
A sparkle/stars icon also appears next to the Ingredient Statement quick link.
When flagging a restricted additive, AskReg provides a link to the regulatory source/citation.
Restricted Additive Suggestions apply to Ingredients only, not Recipes.
The scan re-runs automatically if the Ingredient's name, aliases, or sub-ingredients change.

AskReg Suggestions evaluates against the following regulatory authorities:

🇦🇺🇳🇿 Australia / New Zealand
Note: Users are not restricted to the authorities they are licensed for. All authorities are available to select for all users.
Enable or Disable AskReg Suggestions
1. Click on the three dots next to the username in the bottom left-hand corner and select Profile.
2. Select Options from the menu.
3. Select the User Preferences tab and scroll to the bottom or use the Quick Links menu to jump to AskReg section.
4. Toggle on or off for Allergen Suggestions and Restrictive Additive Suggestions
5. Select each authority you would like to see restricted additive suggestions for.
