An Attribute is any property (bioengineered, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) of a food item that a user wants to track for labeling, marketing, or other purposes. Genesis Foods automatically includes 14 attributes. In addition, a user can create a Custom Attribute that can be used across the program in the Options screen or migrate over a Custom Attribute from Genesis Classic.
Custom Attributes can be seen both on the Ingredient and Recipe screen as well as on Packaging Assets and Nutrient Spec Sheet reports.
Add a Custom Attribute
- Click on the three dots next to your name in the bottom left-hand corner.
- Click on Options.
- On the Options – Program Settings page, scroll down or use the click links to the Custom Attributes section.
- Add a Custom Attribute that can be used program-wide by adding the name and selecting which rule it follows:
- At Least One means that if at least one ingredient or Sub-recipe has that Attribute, then the Recipe using that Ingredient or Sub-recipe will also include that Attribute. For example, Bioengineered has the At Least One rule, so if one or more Ingredients or Sub-recipes have the Bioengineered Attribute, the Recipe will inherit it as well.
-
All means that all ingredients and Sub-recipes must have that Attribute for the Recipe using that Ingredient or Sub-recipe to inherit that Attribute. For Example, Kosher has the All rule. If a Recipe has four ingredients and all four ingredients have the Kosher attribute, then the Recipe will inherit it as well. If only three of the four ingredients have the Kosher attribute, the Recipe will not inherit it.
-
Click Save and the Attribute will appear on the Option page and can be applied throughout the program to any Ingredient or Recipe.
Delete a Custom Attribute
- Select the check box next to the attribute and click the Trash Can icon (see image above).
-
The program will confirm that you would like to delete the attribute(s).
- Click Delete Attributes.
