Creating an Ingredient Using the Ingredient Spec Sheet Scanner

A User can upload an Ingredient spec sheet, and Genesis Foods will use AI-driven data extraction to populate the Ingredient data and remove as much manual data entry as possible. Genesis Foods identifies which fields were successfully populated, and which fields failed to populate. 

To create an Ingredient using a spec sheet: 

  1. Click on New Ingredient on the Dashboard. 
  2. Select Upload a spec sheet. 


  3. Upload your spec sheet by dragging and dropping the file or clicking to browse files. 

  4. Click Scan.

 

Note: Genesis Foods will generate the new Ingredient and alert the user if any fields fail to populate. 

When the AI assistant cannot populate certain items, Genesis Foods will provide a count of sections complete and incomplete.

The user can now make any additions needed to the Ingredient, including adding an Alias or a User Code. Genesis Foods will automatically select the Authorities listed in their User Preferences.  


The user will need to verify Allergens and ensure that child Allergens are chosen for specific Authorities as needed.

Attributes will populate based on the spec sheet, but the user can edit the Attribute to add an expiration date or supporting documentation as needed.

Notes are populated from the spec sheet and can be edited as well. 

Finally, the spec sheet used to generate the Ingredient can be found in the Attachments section.
