Change the Default Label Settings (Display Options)

The available Display Options depend on the label template selected.

Label Formatting

Check the box next to Use the Simplified format if 8 or more nutrients are present in your Recipe in insignificant amounts. When you check this, most of the insignificant nutrients will be moved to a footnote. See example below.

Users can check “Use ‘Not a significant source of other nutrients’” to show that phrase instead of the full footnote listing the specific nutrient names.

Vitamins and Minerals

Check Use all Abbreviations to display the shortest allowable, version of a nutrient or other label element (i.e. Potass. for Potassium or Total Carb. For Total Carbohydrate).

Check Hide quantitative values  if you want to hide the quantitative values (i.e. mg) for voluntary nutrients. Regulations allow you to show only the %DV for voluntary nutrients when they’re displayed on a label if you are not making a claim about the nutrient. In the example below, Niacin is a voluntary nutrient so it does not have a quantitative value next to it.

Footnotes

Select the radio button for your desired footnote.

Check the regulations for when you can hide or shorten the Daily Value Footnote. See examples below for each type.

Full %Daily Value footnote

Shortened %Daily Value footnote

Show %DV = % Daily Value

Users can also Hide the Daily Value footnote all together.

Added Sugars Only

If the product is a single-ingredient sugar product, like honey or table sugar, the product qualifies for special formatting. To use the special formatting, Check This is for a single-ingredient sugar product. Your Label will create without the “Added Sugars” text in its line, but with the %DV followed by a footnote indicator (99% of the time, this will be the dagger symbol). In addition, an explanatory footnote will appear. See below for example.
