Editing nutrient values on the label itself is not supported in Genesis Foods and will break data lineage and disrupt compliance tracking. Updated nutrient values should be incorporated directly into the Ingredient or Recipe because changes can impact multiple dependent Recipes or Labels. After updating the underlying data, regenerate the Label to ensure recalculated values appear correctly. This approach maintains traceability, ensures compliance, and keeps product documentation synchronized.
Note: The status of the recipe will determine what actions need to be taken to update the label with new nutrient values:
- If a Recipe is in a DRAFT status and a preview label is generated, the changes to the nutrient values will automatically update in the preview Label.
- If a Recipe is in an approved status and you generate a new Label, then values are automatically updated on the Label when generated from the Recipe page.
- Labels for previous versions would remain unchanged unless manually updated to use the newer version of the recipe.
- To update a Label with a newer version of a recipe:
- Open the Label.
- Click on Recipes and Search for Recipe
- Uncheck the Old Version of the Recipe. Note: it will no longer be selected at the bottom.
- Check the Updated Version of the Recipe.
- Click Apply and Close.
- Open the Label.
